Dump Truck Accident in NY

New York Dump Truck Accident

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- More than 1,500 customers were without power in Guilderland Tuesday morning after a dump truck tore down several utility poles.

Police on scene say the dump truck was pulling out of a construction site on Norman Avenue around 9:00am when it caught a lower set of power lines and dragged down several utility poles.

The accident shutdown Norman Avenue for a while and reduced Route 20 eastbound to one lane.

Rescue crews asked the dump truck driver to stay in the cab until National Grid workers could de-energize the wires.

The driver was stuck in the truck for about 45 minutes.

No one was seriously hurt.
