Dump Truck Accident in New York

One man is dead after a crash in Gates this morning. It happened on Buffalo Road between Crestwood Boulevard and Mckee Road.

Shortly after 8 a.m., a car going east on Buffalo Road swerved into the westbound lane, right into a dump truck.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash, but the driver of the car, 35-year-old Ernest Jackson of Rochester, was rushed to Strong Hospital where he later died.

No one else was involved in the crash, just the two drivers. As for why this happened, investigators say they believe speed was a factor. There was also a cell phone found at the crash site.

Police are still investigating.
