A woman involved in a head-on collision with a dump truck on Stokes Ferry Road is the 16th person who has died as the result of an accident on county roads this year.
Connie Fink Drye, 49, of Stokes Ferry Road, died Friday at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Drye was was driving north on Stokes Ferry Road on Sept. 9 when her vehicle went off the the right side of the road.
Trooper M.E. Heon of the N.C. Highway Patrol said she over corrected, with her car coming back on the road and going across the center line, striking a dump truck head-on.
