Tractor-Trailer Caught on Guardrail on Jordan Lake Causeway in NC

Jordan Lake Tractor Trailer from WRAL

Pittsboro, N.C. — A tractor-trailer ran off the right side of U.S. Highway 64 East and struck a guardrail on a causeway across Jordan Lake on Monday afternoon.

The truck accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the Seaforth State Recreational Area.

State troopers said the truck driver was OK, but the truck was stuck on the guardrail. Troopers and transportation crews were working to clear the scene.

Troopers said eastbound lanes remained closed around 4:30 p.m. Traffic delays built up as crews shut down lanes on both sides of the NC highway at various points during clean-up.

Troopers did not yet know what caused the truck driver to veer off the road.
