Tanker Truck Crash Slows Traffic On I-20

Traffic is backed up on Interstate 20 eastbound following an accident late this morning involving a tanker truck and a Texas Department of Transportation vehicle.

According to a Tyler Paper reporter on the scene, the tanker truck was attempting to change lanes when it hit the back of a TxDOT truck, which was parked along the highway as part of a road construction crew. The impact tore much of the front of the tanker truck off. Damage to the TxDOT truck is undetermined.

The driver of the TxDOT truck received what were described as non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported by ambulance to the University of Texas Health Sciences Center emergency room for treatment.
